Color Therapy: Advanced Watercolor Group September 2026
Color Therapy is a permanent group of artists who have been working together for years in advanced watercolor painting. Every Thursday, we work together in a live class format, developing our technique while experiencing the unique inspiration that comes from sharing and a sense of community. This group is designed for artists who are fully proficient in basic and intermediate watercolor painting, have developed their own working style, and want to delve deeper into watercolor. We work with artists who now use color theory, composition, wet-wet and wet-dry techniques, atmospheric perspective, and the art of light and shadow as if it were a reflex. In Color Therapy, we focus on a different subject each week — still life, landscape, architecture, botany, and figurative studies. Challenging compositions, complex lighting situations, multiple object relationships, and advanced topics such as atmospheric depth form the heart of the course. Every lesson is a new discovery, every brushstroke a new lesson. We work with professional materials in this class: Arches watercolor paper and Schmincke Horadam watercolors are the group standard. We feel the difference that quality materials make to our work every week, and we improve our techniques with these professional tools. The most special aspect of Color Therapy is the close-knit community formed by students who have been working together for many years. Meeting artists who take their art seriously, work regularly, and understand the value of growing together is a great gift, not only technically but also in terms of inspiration. Art is sometimes an escape, sometimes a catharsis, and sometimes true therapy. That special time you set aside for yourself one day a week in the world of colors will nourish both your art and your soul. Let's be together at Color Therapy on Thursdays.
