Color Therapy Winter Term: Advanced Watercolor November 2026

Color Therapy Winter Term: Advanced Watercolor November 2026
Color Therapy's Winter Gathering: A special period where we combine advanced watercolor techniques with winter themes. In the warm spirit of our Thursday group, we will explore the profound beauty of winter nature together. This course is designed for advanced artists who have already mastered the basics of watercolor, experienced Level 2 landscape studies, and wish to develop their own style. Winter is one of the richest subject areas for watercolor: the purity of snow, the transparency of ice, the warmth of candlelight, misty landscapes, smoking forest cabins, and the tranquility of snowy towns... The warm-cold contrast at the heart of the winter theme perfectly complements the fluid nature of watercolor. In this period, we will deepen advanced techniques to bring all the beauty of the winter atmosphere to paper. Topics we will work on together in this course: The expression of snow in watercolor — capturing snow through the absence of white, preserving paper whiteness, snow form with cool tones, shadow and depth. Wet-wet atmosphere studies — advanced techniques for misty landscapes, snowfall, cloudy skies, and atmospheric softness. Warm light focal points — capturing candlelight filtering through cabin windows, lamps, festive lights, and atmospheric lighting. Architectural details — wooden cabins, snow-covered roofs, historical structures in winter landscapes, and their roles in composition. Complex composition — multi-plane management, focal point hierarchy, and dramatic narrative of winter scenes. Granulation and pigment properties — using the granular effects of professional watercolors in winter subjects. Personal artistic language — individual guidance and feedback to help each student develop their own style. In the course, we will use professional papers such as Arches 300gsm cold press or Hahnemühle, and professional watercolors such as St. Petersburg White Nights, Schmincke, or Daniel Smith. You can comfortably participate with your existing advanced materials set. We work in a small group on Thursday evenings in an intimate and focused atmosphere. Critical and individual feedback is included in every lesson. We are launching a new Color Therapy era in November 2026, along with the winter atmosphere. Let's meet in the deepest colors of winter.
